Another scenario in which situational awareness is important on the fire ground is what’s say you responded to a call of a structure fire. Then while on the call you see the fire spreading into the walls or structural supports. This is important to be aware of as it could cause the building to become structurally unstable and eventually collapse. If you see that then notify other firefighters about what you saw and then they should immediately evacuate the building and order firefighters to evacuate the building and do a defensive attack on the fire

If the car has electric seats, do you still want to prop the backrest up (so, you have to do it way earlier, before you cut the battery)?

What a great teacher! But why take the fenders of to spread the hinges instead of cutting them with the door open (provided it opens but it seems to be frequent on modern cars, which was your topic)?

As a person in collision repair knowing the structure of cars- why don’t you just open the door? If it’s jammed- stick a saw to the latch at the b- pillar it will open right up.🤷🏽🤦🏽

He's showing a comprehensive removal of all doors and access points to a patent trapped in a vehicle. You're not going to completely dismantle a vehicle like this every time on an accident scene, first responders know this...first responders also know that the 1st step in accessing the patent is trying to simply open the door.

@@theduke5484 last extrication I went to the door latch was completely crunched and the patient was positioned with his back against the inside of the door. We did just pry the door open while someone held the patient stable from the backseat. We made it work.

No Forget everything you just watched & heard, When you get hired with a big city fire department especially Philadelphia where I’ve worked for the last 34 years we don’t have time for all this book work! We roll up stab a tire with a knife, start cutting , spreading and ramming! Get the patient to the hospital ASAP. I’ve worked R-1 Squad 72 and Squad 47 I mastered vehicle rescue by the time I was 24 and became a Penn-Dot instructor by 26 when I was promoted. This is a joke, if we took all this time our fatality rate would be 98%!
